The National Coordinating Center for Digitization of Biodiversity Collections (iDigBio), headquartered at the Florida Museum and funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), is managing and sustaining an integrated national infrastructure for digitization of biodiversity collections housed in U.S. institutions. iDigBio provides access to training, information, and data critical to scientific research and education, including those designed to facilitate understanding of biodiversity and societal consequences of global change and other environmental issues. A full-time Education, Outreach, Diversity, & Inclusion Coordinator will be hired to coordinate and implement the Education, Outreach, Diversity, and Inclusion (EODI) activities of iDigBio and to communicate and facilitate coordination and networking among the national digitization network and other stakeholders to promote, encourage, develop, and implement EODI activities that achieve broad reach and high impact.
