Abstract: VertVertNet logoNet mobilizes biodiversity data (not just vertebrates) for a broad spectrum of natural history collections. Part of VertNet's mission is to help data publishers in every way we can. One way to help is to set up, demonstrate, and use a common centralized reporting mechanism that makes it easy for data publishers to receive and manage feedback about their published data. logo for GitHubGitHub provides all of the necessary infrastructure to do this for free, including version control for files, issue tracking, email integration, and an Application Programming Interface (API). We will discuss and demonstrate how VertNet uses each of these aspects of GitHub to capture and manage user feedback, usage statistics, and bulk data quality reports.
