Tagging

Our tagging supports our website design: this helps direct content to the right sub-sites, this control is not fully developed yet. Our tagging supports how our design works: this helps assure that content is searchable according to the existing Drupal custom-made views of the content. See Drupal tags below. Within each technology, at least one of the default tags should be used in each piece of content. The defaults tags should grow with need.

in Drupal

The following are a set of recommended content-related Drupal tags:

  • Cyberinfrastructure
  • Data Ingestion
  • Database
  • Digitization
  • Documentation
  • Education
  • Outreach
  • Policy
  • Public Participation
  • Workflow
  • Workshop

Put them into the 'Tags' field when you 'Add Content'.

Other tags may be useful, use with parsimony, and good search engine strategy in mind, e.g, 'Workshop' and 'workshops' - only one ie required, and unless a collective noun, the singular is preferred.

Follow the Wiki style for tags by using capitalization only on the first word if the tag is multi-word, e.g, Data ingestion.

in Wiki

Wiki tags are created with a syntax like

[[Category:tag]]

When to use Wiki
