General Information

When: January 23-24, 2020
Where: Duke University; Durham, NC

Overview

This invited two day workshop will address architecture of potential solutions to the problem of efficiently serving digital media files, including images, audio, video, and, more recently, three-dimensional datasets. Institutions often lack the infrastructure to accomplish this. The goal will be to articulate an overarching plan by which all of the represented institutions with diverse requirements and limitations could participate in. A set of workflows for using a single repository for curation and discovery of some set/mode of digital assets representing their collections will additionally be created. This plan will form the foundation of a larger scale infrastructure development grant.
