Augmenting OCR Working Group

Resource: IDIGBIO-AOCR-L@LISTS.UFL.EDU

Purpose: This working group is attempting to improve OCR output and algorithm tools to speed up the digitization process.

Biodiversity Informatics Management Working Group

Resource: IDIGBIOBIM-L@LISTS.UFL.EDU

Purpose: This working group discusses issues related to biodiversity informatics management.

Purpose: Using citizen science resources for digitization and exploring partenerships with crowdcourcing service providers.

Citizen Scientist Hackathon

Resource: CITSCRIBE-L@LISTS.UFL.EDU

Purpose: This listserv was initiated during the CitScribe Hackathon in Gainesville in December, 2013

Cyberinfrastructure Working Group (CYWG)

Resource: IDIGBIO-CYWG-L@LISTS.UFL.EDU

Purpose: Communication among all CYWG members, including meeting scheduling, meeting outcomes, exchange of IT related experiences, and to distribute iDigBio/TCN IT development announcements. The goal of the working group is to define, document and test iDigBio portal, services, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), appliances and discuss integration with partners. The first phase will focus on data ingestion APIs and appliances considering TCN use cases.

Data Management Interest Group (DMig)

Resource: IDIGBIODM-L@LISTS.UFL.EDU

Purpose: Our group strives to assist the community to find answers for and help with their data management issues. If skilled help, or database help is needed, we try to point people toward existing community expertise and resources. If the issue is intractable, we note this. We are attempting to create a needs list and what we suggest for each of those needs.

Invert Imaging Interest Group

Purpose: This interest group's goals are to provide a forum for discussing issues related to imaging invertebrates, like spiders, and other things preserved in fluid.

Paleo Digitization Working Group

Resource: IDIGBIOPALDIGI-L@LISTS.UFL.EDU

Purpose: This working groups goals are to support paleo digitization efforts.

Purpose: The network of people is designed to provide a discussion forum for small collections issues.

Principal Investigators, co-PIs and leads from Collaborating Institutions from the NSF TCNs and PENs

Purpose: Comunication between Principal Investigators and Co-PIs from all collaborating institutions.

How to Subscribe and Unsubscribe

Many LISTSERV operations are easily performed through email. We'll use the fictional list FICTIONAL-L in our examples below. You should replace all occurrances of the string "FICTIONAL-L" with the list you are interested in.

To add yourself to a list, send a piece of email to listserv@lists.ufl.edu with the line in the body of the email:

subscribe (listname) (your first name) (your last name)

e.g.,
subscribe FICTIONAL-L Jane Doe

To remove yourself from a list, send a piece of email to listserv@lists.ufl.edu with the line:

unsubscribe (listname)

e.g.,
unsubscribe FICTIONAL-L
